President Solih in Lh. Hinnavaru for Eid-Al-Adha celebrations

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih is in Hinnavaru island of Lhaviyani atoll.
The president arrived at his home island on Friday morning, to attend the festivities of the auspicious occasion of Eid-Al-Adha with his people.
This year, the island residents of Hinnavaru held colorful celebrations for Eid, including hosting a color run, the traditional ‘Maali’ parade and many other items including a music show featuring an international singer.
Some of the activities planned for Friday include a children’s evening and a fireworks display scheduled for Friday evening.
More activities are also scheduled for Saturday, to commemorate Eid-Al-Adha.
As part of the Eid festivities, President Solih and First Lady Fazna Ahmed also visited Thoddoo island in Alif Alif atoll. The first couple arrived in Thoddoo to attend a traditional style lunch banquet hosted by Thoddoo women, on the occasion of Eid-Al-Adha on June 28.
Several activities were planned for Eid-Al-Adha, in Thoddoo, which commenced on Tuesday evening. Some other activities the island community is scheduled to engage in, include the traditional ‘Bodu Mas’, ‘Maali’ as well as a fireworks’ display and an Eid show as in many of the islands.
