The third amendment to the General Elections Act has been ratified.
President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih ratified the third amendment bill to the General Elections Act on Wednesday.
The amendment bill was passed by the People’s Majlis on June 19, at the 13th sitting of its second session for 2023.
The bill proposes to amend Section 45(b) and add a new section.
It was ratified to implement procedures enabling visually impaired voters to mark their ballots independently.
Upon ratification, the amended act has been enacted and publicized in the government gazette.
