The administration of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih remains committed to promote religious awareness and build social cohesion, says Vice President Faisal Naseem.
The vice president made this remark during a meeting with religious scholars who participated in the religious awareness initiatives by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs during the fasting month of Ramadan this year.
Reaffirming that the Solih administration is committed to promote religious awareness, VP Naseem added that the administration will also remain committed in its efforts to build social cohesion and maintain communal harmony.
The meeting saw VP Naseem expressing sincere gratitude to the scholars and individuals who organized and facilitated the religious programmes during the fasting month this year.
As such, VP Naseem thanked them for their resilient efforts in promoting Islamic values and educating the society about Islam.
Highlighting that the Solih administration realized the significance of encouraging societal harmony and developing human resources, VP Naseem noted that the incumbent administration aims to boost efforts to promote religious awareness and encourage religious compassion among students and communities across the nation, during the upcoming academic year.
Further, he noted that the administration is committed to organize Quran recitation competitions and other initiatives that promote religious values, in the future as well.
He went on to urge communities nationwide to work together to create a community that prioritizes education and societal progress.
Contrary to previous years, several religious events were carried out during this year’s fasting month including Ihya forums designed for school students and the public.
