President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has met with the President of the Republic of Seychelles, Wavel Ramkalawan.
The Maldivian President met with the Seychelles President on Sunday.
The meeting was held on the sidelines of the 5th UN Conference on the Least Developed Countries.
The meeting saw President Solih and President Ramkalawan holding discussions on various topics. These topics included climate change and tourism, as well.
As such, both the Presidents discussed efforts to restore tourism to pre-pandemic levels.
They also discussed working together in the international arena on issues of mutual interest, such as climate change, and playing a more prominent role in the Small Island Developing States (SIDS) and as members of the Alliance of Small Island States (AOSIS).
Furthermore, both the leaders expressed optimism about further strengthening the Seychelles-Maldives relationship and finding ways to collaborate internationally.
The Maldives and Seychelles established diplomatic relations on July 1, 1980.
