President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has been presented with the jersey of the national volleyball team competing in the 4 Nations Cup.
The 4 Nations Cup is the first international sporting event being hosted in the Maldives this year.
The jersey was presented to President Solih at at a function held at the President's Office last week. Minister of Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment, Ahmed Mahloof, presented the jersey to President Solih.
The four teams competing in the 4 Nations Cup's men's division are the national volleyball teams from Singapore, Malaysia, Afghanistan, and the Maldives.
The women's national volleyball teams from Singapore, Malaysia, and the Maldives will compete in the women's division of the tournament.
The tournament will be held at the Maldives Center for Social Education (MCSE) from 23 February to 27 February.
This is the first invitation-only volleyball tournament hosted by the Maldives.
International sporting events are being hosted in the Maldives as a pledge of President Solih's administration. The administration is also working towards providing equal opportunities for the development of all sports.
Under these efforts, the Maldives volleyball teams are holding sports camps for the first time in Europe and the Middle East. The men's and women's national volleyball teams are currently in Thailand in preparation for the 4 Nations Cup.
