President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has declared Monday, 06 February, 2023, as a government holiday.
The declaration was made in a directive issued by the President’s Office on Sunday.
President Solih is scheduled to deliver his Presidential Address to the members of the People's Majlis to initiate the first session of the Parliament for this year on 06 February.
In accordance with article 84 of the Maldivian constitution, the President is to address the parliament to initiate the first session of the parliament.
This year, President Solih will be giving his fifth Presidential Address.
