Maldives Police Service (MPS) has raised concerns over the high involvement of immigrant workers in the crime circles in the Maldives.

Chief Inspector of Police, Rajnee Shuaib raised this concern during the 'Falasurukhee' program of RaajjeTV on Sunday.

Speaking at the program, the Chief Inspector of Police noted that immigrant workers are quite often seen involved in crimes, in at least one stage. He noted that there are different stages of crimes.

As such, taking theft as an example, Rajnee explained that immigrants are always found either involved in the act of stealing, hiding the goods stolen, or conducting business with the stolen goods.

He noted that the same is seen in crimes involving drugs.

Rajnee also noted that immigrants are involved in scams involving money, such as dollar exchange.
