The land reclamation and shore protection of the industrial zone of Thinadhoo island in Gaaf Dhaal atoll, has begun.

Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) revealed that they commenced the physical works of the Thinadhoo industrial zone land reclamation and shore protection project on Tuesday.

MTCC is currently working on the preparation of the bund wall.

Under the scope of the project, MTCC is required to reclaim 10.6 hectares of land and construct a revetment measuring 1,521 meters.

Further, a quay wall measuring 555 meters will also be built.

The project also includes sheet pile works in an area measuring 166 meters, the installation of a pavement measuring 4,492 square meters as well as bollards, fenders and lights.
