Maldives’ bodyboarding sensation Ali Khushruvaan Ahmed more commonly known as Kuda Ayya, has made the top 12 in the global Bodyboarding Drop Knee Category.

The rankings publicized by the International Bodyboarding Corporation (IBC) revealed that Kuda Ayya is at the 12th spot of the rankings with 1,460 points.

The seasoned bodyboarder from the Maldives also competed in the semifinals of the Drop Knee Category in the recently concluded Visit Maldives Pro 2022 as well.

This is the first time in the history of Maldives that a Maldivian athlete has been included in the top four of the senior category in the tournament.

Kuda Ayya, who showed an exemplary performance in the competition, competed against Dave Hubbard from Hawaii in the semi finals. As such, Kuda Ayya had even beat then-second place holder in the global rankings as well.

Ranking at number one spot in the Drop Knee rankings, is Dave Hubbard from Hawaii with 4,000 points.

Coming at second is France’s Amaury Lavernhe with 3,720 points.

Iain Campbell from South African comes at third spot along with Fabian Thazar from Reunion Island, both of whom attained 2,680 points.

Fifth place is held by Sammy Morretino from Hawaii who secured 2,320 points.

Hen Haim Vaturi from Israel falls to sixth spot with 2,070 points, followed by Kawika Rohrkamai from Hawaii at seventh with 1,860 points.

Eighth place is held by Mach Crilley from the U.S. with 1,830 points.

Crilley is followed by Kellen Yamasaki from Hawaii with 1,720 points in the ninth spot, tying with Jericco Rosero with the same number of points.

Falling to the bottom at 13th spot if Pohakukauae Kekaualua from Hawaii with 1,400 points.
