Aamin Moosa has made history by making the world’s top three in the body boarding junior category.

Aamin, who had very recently competed in the finals of the IBC Bodyboarding World Tour Maldives 2022 pro-junior category, has become the first Maldivian athlete to have competed in the finals of a global top ranking body boarding competition.

Five athletes had made it to the top spot in the junior ranking including Joel Rodrigues, Gabriel Molina, Jorge Hernández, Maycol Yancce and Paulo Galatti. The first spot is held by all five athletes with 2,000 points.

The third spot is also held by five athletes including Nicolas Espinoza, Fábio Saavedra, Guilherme Montenegro, Aamin Moosa and José Augusto Moisés Junior all of whom attained 1,720 points.

Molina is the athlete Aamin competed against in the competition held in the Maldives.

The rankings of the junior category will be finalized after the IBC event scheduled to be held in Canary Islands this October.

With the event slated from October 15 – 30, the Maldives Bodyboarding Association has revealed that preparations are currently underway to ensure Maldivian athletes get to compete in the event.
