Schools reopen after semester break

Students will go on break on Eid break next week, and classes will recommence on July 2

Following a week-long semester break, school sessions have resumed on Sunday.

As Ramadan continues, school sessions will be held for hour hours; with the morning session starting around 8:40 am, and the afternoon session between 11 am and 1 pm.

According to the Ministry of Education, this is so that school sessions can be concluded by 3 pm latest.

While classes resumed on Sunday, President's Office had said that if Eid al-Fitr falls on Sunday (June 25) then the whole week will be declared a holiday; and if it falls on Monday (June 26), the rest of the week will be declared a public holiday.

Hence, a week after resuming, students could go on a nine-day break. After going on Eid break, classes will then recommence on July 2, along with all government offices.

The second semester will end in November.
