President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has been presented with copies of books authored by Abdul Azeez Ibrahim.

Abdul Azeez Ibrahim presented the copies of two books written about the lives of residents of Dhidhdhoo island in Haa Alif atoll, to the president on Thursday.

The two books carry the history, lifestyle, and traditions of the people of Dhidhdhoo.

One of the books, "Kureege aadha kaadhathah 1”, which roughly translated means “Ancient traditions 1” is based on the lives and lifestyles of the first settlers of the island community and according to Azeez, people first settled on the island a century ago.

The second book, "Hoadhi hoadhunthakaa libihuri mauloomaathaai amalee thajuribaa" which roughly translates to “Findings, acquired information and experience”, is written on facts about Dhidhdhoo and provides answers to questions regarding the people of Dhidhdhoo.

The meeting held at the President’s Office saw President Solih expressing gratitude to the author for the copies.

The president also talked about the significance of such invaluable work, which he hoped will prove to be valuable for the readers.

The president was briefed on some notable facts in the books.

Chief of Staff at the President’s Office Ali Zahir accompanied the president at the meeting.
