ADK Hospital has said that the accident victim brought in on Thursday “is still in serious condition”.

The 23-year-old woman, who had been the passenger on a motorcycle that crashed in Hulhumalé on Thursday, is still being treated at the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit, said ADK’s Managing Director Ahmed Af'aal.

He added that she has been connected to a ventilator as well.

They were forced to operate on her on Saturday, as she was suffering from a brain bleed.

The motorcycle crashed near the Maldives Ports Limited outlet in Hulhumalé shortly after midnight after the rider lost control.

The rider, who reportedly accelerated far beyond the speed limit, also sustained serious injuries in the accident.
