The president met with the faculty of Lhaviyani Atoll Education Centre as part of his ongoing tour of the atoll

Extensive discussions have been held on challenges facing Lhaviyani Atoll Education Centre.

As part of his ongoing tour of Lhaviyani atoll, President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih met with the senior management and staff of the center and engaged in discussions regarding their concerns, challenges as well as development needs.

The meeting saw President Solih briefed on the shortcomings for the faculty due to space constraints, as well as the need to upgrade the complex and develop additional infrastructure.

The faculty members also shed light on their human resource needs.

Listening to these concerns, the president assured that the government will seek ways to find amicable solutions to these concerns.

The visit to Hinnavaru also saw the president paying a visit to the health center where he met the management and staff to inquire about their services.

He also conducted a visit to the extension site for the harbor and inspected the progress. The project was contracted to Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) and will see the development of a deep-water quay wall to facilitate larger vessels. It will measure up to 162 meters in length and also includes the development of a quay wall in the old harbor, as well as basin dredging.

The president is currently on a three-day tour of Lhaviyani atoll, where he will be covering a total of six islands. He is accompanied by a delegation of high-level government officials.
