Tickets for the upcoming “Ooredoo SAFF Championship 2021” are to be sold from Wednesday onwards.

Football Association of the Maldives (FAM) revealed that tickets will be sold for the first two matches of the first match day, from 10am on Wednesday.

Tickets for all matches will be sold before the day of the match.

FAM revealed that tickets will be sold from the ticket counter at Olympus. Tickets are priced at MVR 100 for seats, and MVR 75 for bleachers.

The bleachers southward of the region were previously closed off to the public, however, with supporters now allowed inside the stadium, the bleachers in the south side have been reconstructed and reopened. However, spectators will only be allowed to seat on the bottom benches.

According to FAM, tickets will only be sold to individuals who have completed both doses of the vaccination against Covid-19. With this being said, supporters will be required to present their vaccination cards at the ticket counter as well as the stadium.

The 13th SAFF Championship, officially named “Ooredoo SAFF Championship 2021” is scheduled from 1 - 16 October. The National Football Team squad comprising of 24 players has also been finalized and announced for the championship.

Maldives will face Nepal in the first match of the tournament on October 1, before facing Bangladesh, on October 7 and Sri Lanka on October 10. Maldives will go head-to-head with India, on October 13. The top two finishers will play the final on October 16.

This is the second time Maldives will be hosting the highly-anticipated SAFF Championship. The first time was in 2008, where co-hosted with Sri Lanka. That time Maldives brought home the championship for the first time. The last SAFF championship was held in Dhaka, Bangladesh, in 2018 where Maldives and India made it to the finals. Maldives took home the championship that year as well.
