Dhirham Trading Company Private Limited has won the championship in the Ramadan Cricket Carnival Company Tape Ball Tournament, organized by the Male' Sports Club and Cricket Board of the Maldives.

The cricket carnival is one of the biggest sports activities carried out in Ramadan. It comprises of an open tape ball cricket competition, tape ball contests between government offices, as well as between other companies.

Although the office competitions concluded in Ramadan, the company contests had to be halted due to Covid-19 complications, as per the Health Protection Agency (HPA) guidelines.

While the matches had restarted, the final match was played on Friday evening. Dhirham won the match by 46 goals against Equivalent Line Private Limited’s team.

The most skilled player from Dhirham’s team was won by Mehendi Hassan. The overall most skilled player was won by Equivalent’s Savindhar.

14 teams had participated in this year’s company competitions, which were distributed into three groups for the progression of the matches. As the matches ended following the halting due to coronavirus, Cricket Board of the Maldives had decided that only teams who were 90 percent vaccinated can participate in cricket contests held in Maldives.
