The city council has begun to host meetings to find out the locals views regarding Male’ City’s development plan, financial plan, action plan and the following year’s budget plan.
The city council has plans to host meetings with all divisions within Male’ city, separately. The first meeting was held with residents of Galolhu district last Thursday.
Mayor Dr. Mohamed Muizzu had established the council’s plan and budget for the coming year in the course of this meeting and announced the important projects the city has financed this year. He also briefed the attendees about the current projects ongoing within the city.
In the meeting, Mayor Muizzu declared that a leader of the residents’ choosing is to be appointed for each block in Male’ City in order to overlook the work being done by the council. He then stated certain guidelines are set to select a leader – the leader must be chosen by those who reside in that block and the one elected must work closely with the residents.
Afterwards, a board is to be appointed to each district.
According to the schedule, all meetings are to be held at 8:30pm. The next meeting will be hosted at the Vilimale’ harbor with the Vilimale’ district residents on the 8th of August. The meeting with the Machangoalhi division is to be held on the 10th of August at Maafanu stadium, meeting with Maafanu division will be conducted at Rasfannu on the 12th of August, gathering of the Henveiru division is to take place on the 14th of August at Lonuziyaarai Park and the meeting with the Hulhumale’ community with be on the 22nd of August.
Councilors, members of the Women’s Development Committee (WDC) are attending these meetings.
