Fire incident in the swimming track region
No injuries were reported in the fire that broke out near the swimming track region in capital Malé City late Wednesday.
The Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) revealed that the fire broke out inside a speedboat docked near the swimming track region in the early hours of Thursday.
MNDF received reports of the fire at around 12:42am on Thursday
A team of MNDF’s Fire and Rescue department was dispatched to the scene soon after.
Fire fighters were able to completely douse the fire by 12:56am.
Although no injuries were reported in connection with the fire, the speedboat sustained major damages.
