The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has stated that 50 individuals have sought assistance in connection with Thursday’s massive fire.

Houses in the area where the fire incident occurred at the Ministry of Housing, Ministry of Construction, and Ministry of Environment were evacuated. NDMA also established an evacuation center.

NDMA said that 50 individuals contacted them seeking assistance in connection with the fire incident, and their registrations have been completed. They stated that the evacuation center set up at the Social Center is prepared to provide necessary essential assistance to these individuals.

However, at the request of the families, they have been temporarily relocated to relatives' homes.

NDMA said that they are conducting a rapid assessment of the damaged buildings. They will provide assistance to relocate families if it is safe for families to move back into the affected buildings.

The authority has urged those in need of assistance related to the fire incident to promptly call the number 115 without delay.

Following the fire incident that affected three buildings housing government ministries, operations have come to a halt at these ministries and the buildings are now deemed unusable.
