Vice President Hussain Mohamed Latheef has urged to take pride in utilizing knowledge and skills to serve the nation as a sworn national duty.

He said this while speaking at the second session of the Islamic University of Maldives' Convocation Ceremony 2024.

He graced the ceremony as the chief guest on Thursday evening.

Taking the podium at the event, VP Latheef shed light on the high priority placed on the education sector by the administration of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu.

Further, he noted that assessing and addressing challenges facing higher education students is one of the administration’s goals.

VP Latheef urged the graduates to prioritize national interests and communal harmony above everything else.

He went on to shed light on the significance of continuing academic research even after graduating.

Thursday’s ceremony saw VP Latheef conferring special awards and certifications to some of the graduates.
