The government is to build a high-quality hospital in Dhidhdhoo island of Haa Alif atoll.
This was announced by President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu while speaking to residents of the island on Sunday.
The president committed to improve the healthcare services provided in the island, by developing a high-quality hospital in the island.
Muizzu stated that the hospital would be developed to reflect the aspirations of the island community.
He added that the hospital, once developed, would serve the entire atoll.
The president noted that measures to enhance the current hospital services would be implemented soon, and that an additional ambulance would be provided soon as well.
Speaking to Dhidhdhoo residents, the president expressed commitment to advance the development of Dhidhdhoo airport as he has promised.
He added that the project would be carried out with an additional land reclamation initiative.
The president stressed that housing is an urgent issue for the island community and highlighted that his administration places high priority in implementing a housing project.
Muizzu said that this will be done while addressing other crucial development needs of the island community.
