Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) has revealed that the investigation for the incident where a glass panel fell and fatally wounded a youth earlier in January is nearly complete.
Speaking to RaajjeMV, MPL's Deputy CEO Ibrahim Abdulla said that the investigation process was almost complete, and that they had been sharing information with the Maldives Police Service (MPS) as well.
Ibrahim Abdulla further said that they had sought and received guidance to improve safety for employees at MPS sites, and that recommendations include intense training for employees for specific tasks and in operating machinery.
Abdulla Asim, N. Landhoo, 27, who was hospitalized after being trapped under a falling glass panel near MPL on 7 January, passed away on Saturday while receiving treatment for severe orthopedic injuries sustained in the accident.
