The Education Ministry has announced that Cambridge O'Level examinations and Edexcel A'Level will be conducted as planned in May and June this year.
The announcement comes following the cancellation of exams for O'Level students in 2020, who will now be sitting those exams in the May/June examination series for 2021. Students who sat the A'Level May/June exams for 2020 did so under strict observation of "new normal" health and safety precautions, which are expected to be upheld for this year’s examinations as well.
The Education Ministry has continued to reaffirm their commitment to ensure students can pursue their educational milestones without delay despite the prevailing difficulties of the global Covid-19 pandemic.
When schools were closed following lockdown, the Ministry initiated online classes to ensure learning continued uninterrupted. The Ministry also had O/L and A/L students return to school to prepare for exams under strict "new normal" regulations when the number of Covid-19 cases began to decrease.
While 10 January is set to be the start of the second semester for the 2020-2021 academic year, schools are scheduled to open for all ages, with students from baby nursery and nursery to secondary and higher secondary students expected to resume studies nationwide.
