Officials at the Maldives Customs Service has apprehended a Maldivian man who had just arrived from Dubai with over half a kilogram of heroin.

They found 578 grams in the 25-year-old’s luggage upon searching it at the airport’s passenger clearance.

The man has been transferred to custody of the police.

Customs had seized 1.33 kilograms of heroin earlier month, and placed its street price at MVR 6 million.
