Manta Air continues to expand its seaplane fleet, with a seventh aircraft.

Manta Air announced the arrival of the the Twin Otter Seaplane on Friday.

The aircraft arrived from Canada, after completing a 16,000 kilometer journey.

It is manufactured by British aerospace company, de Havilland. This Twin Otter is painted with Nautilus Maldives livery.

Manta Air is new to the local aviation industry, having commenced operations on 17th November 2019.

With the seventh seaplane, the airline now has a total of 10 aircrafts including three 72-passenger ATR aircrafts.

Since borders were reopened in July after a nearly four-month closure due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, Manta Air has been conducting seaplane operations in order to accommodate tourists travelling to local resorts.

All other domestic routes remain suspended apart from flight operations to Kudahuvadhoo in Dhaalu Atoll; the airline runs four flights a week from Velana International Airport to Dhaalu Airport.
