A fire in Fiyoari island of Gaafu Dhaalu atoll’s powerhouse has cause the death of a person.
Saeed Mohamed, from the island’s council told RaajjeMV that the deceased is 26-year-old Nazid Abdulla.
“We do not know what caused the fire, it happened during prayers in the afternoon today, the people heard a loud noise, when they went there the fire had already spread and Nazid was inside” the island councillor said.
The fire was quelled shortly after.
