No evidence gained from the searches

Police have confiscated the phone belonging to Maamigili Constituency Member and Jumooree Party Leader Qasim Ibrahim under a court order.

Raajje.mv understands that his phone was seized as part of an ongoing investigation.

The move came hours after his residence and offices were searched. The search lasted two hours but failed to yield any evidence in connection to the cases.

Qasim was previously arrested on the 6th of this month, on charges of trying to sway a vote in Parliament, offering bribes to the Parliamentarians and attempting to overthrow a legally elected Government, as well as encouraging dissent within the Armed Forces and spread discord within the society. He was released six days later.
