State Trading Organization and Maldives Industrial Fisheries Corporation (MIFCO) have provided aid for families affected by the Covid-19 pandemic and are in need of assistance.

Both companies extended their support through the Ministry of Gender, Family and Social Services who on Twitter revealed that both companies had donated staple food supplies for the families in need during the lockdown.

The ministry extended gratitude to STO and MIFCO for the generous support and expressed appreciation for the kind initiative.

Earlier, the ministry started up a programme to provide temporary shelter for those affected by the Covid-19 lockdown, at a time the safety precautions implemented by the government have heavily affected some families in the Greater Male Region, as well as outlying atolls
