The police in Hulhumalé – the capital’s fast-developing urban extension – has arrested a man who stole a sum of USD 1,400.
The 22-year-old man was arrested on Wednesday night.
Officers had searched the man’s apartment – where they found the stolen cash.
The Maldives Police Service (MPS) said that the money has been return to whom it was stolen from.
The Criminal Court has remanded the man by five days.
