STO slashes prices for perishable goods
A case of eggs, previously priced at MVR 260 now comes with a price tag of MVR 240, which is a MVR 20 reduction
The price revision was announced on Monday
The State Trading Organization (STO) has revised their prices for perishable items.
As such, prices for perishable items such as onions and eggs have been slashed.
A case of eggs, previously priced at MVR 260 now comes with a price tag of MVR 240, which is a MVR 20 reduction.
The price for a sack of onions has been reduced to MVR 175 from MVR 255, this is an MVR 80 reduction.
The company revealed that customers who have the required permits from the Maldives Police Service (MPS) can visit the Perishable Warehouse at Industrial Village to pick up their orders every day except Fridays.
The warehouse will be open for pick-up between 11am and 3pm.
Consumers have been urged to contact 7291123 or 7291125 to have their orders delivered to their doorsteps.
STO earlier assured the people that staple foods will always be made available as much as the people need them. STO has also arranged for staples and perishables to be delivered to doorsteps, at a time the people have been urged to maintain social and physical distancing, as well as to remain indoors at all times due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
