Covid-19 cases have been confirmed from Thulusdhoo island in Kaafu atoll.
Head of the island’s Covid-19 taskforce, Ali Maumoon has confirmed this to RaajjeMV.
He said that two Bangladeshi workers that left the island on April 15 had tested positive for Covid-19. RaajjeMV understands that they were on the island through the State Electric Company (STELCO).
While the island was placed under monitoring after their test results came back, Maumoon said that samples of 40 contacts were taken for testing.
He added that two out of the 40 have since tested positive for the virus, and that these are residents of the house the two workers stayed in while on the island.
According to Maumoon, these two are still on the island along with 14 others that have been quarantined as well.
