President Nasheed
Former President Mohamed Nasheed is to deliver a lecture on climate change and development at the Skoll World Forum, organized by Oxford University.
He will depart to the UK for the forum, which will be held from the 4th to the 7th of April.
The panel discussion titled “Energy Leapfrogging or Carbon Imperialism?” will be held on the 6th of April. The debate will highlight the trade-offs—or false choices—between fostering economic growth in emerging economies, with the imperative to transition to a cleaner-energy future.
He is scheduled to return back to Sri Lanka after the forum.
