Maldives Blood Services (MBS) has publicly appealed for blood donations due to depleting stocks.
MBS made the appeal via Twitter on Sunday, emphasising the demand for O positive and B positive blood.
The service is open for blood donations from Sunday to Thursday between 8 am to 3 pm.
MBS had appealed for blood donations in late March as well. It was revealed that the majority of donations come from resorts. Therefore, donations had fallen after travelling between resorts and inhabited islands had been restricted as a precautionary measure against Covid-19.
MBS caters to patients with haematological disorders including Thalassaemia and provides safe blood to those in need.
