Numan is a member of government coalition partner, Adhaalath Party, and is the president of its human rights committee.

The party confirmed his death via Twitter.

Numan was appointed as Commissioner General of Customs on 11th December 2018. He previously served in the housing ministry and the State Trading Organization (STO), and was the chairman when Fenaka Corporation was first established.
