Palestinian sports minister calls on his Maldivian counterpart

The minister-chairman’s visit comes ahead of the national team’s match against Palestine on Tuesday night

Jibril Rajoub, the Minister-Chairman of the Palestinian Higher Council on Youth and Sports, has called on sports minister Iruthisham Adam.

The minister-chairman’s visit comes ahead of the national team’s match against Palestine on Tuesday night.

The Ministry of Youth and Sports had hosted a dinner in honour of Rajoub.

The Asian Cup qualifier match is scheduled for 9:00 pm on Tuesday.

Maldives has had diplomatic relations with Palestine since 1988. In July last year the Palestinian Ambassador to the Maldives, Anwar Al Agha, had called on the foreign minister.

The Maldivian government had then assured its support to the Palestinian cause in its conflict with Israel.
