MDP submits 710 applications for women's development committee elections
 
Opportunity to choose candidate's delegates will be opened on 27 February

Main ruling Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) has revealed that the party submitted 710 applications for the women’s development committee elections, to the Elections Commission of the Maldives (ECM).

The party’s Campaign Spokesperson Afshan Latheef revealed on Tuesday that by the time the deadline for candidacy submissions reached on Monday, they had submitted a total of 710 application forms.

Afshan highlighted that this is a “great success” for the party.

Further, the spokesperson reiterated that eligible voters are required to re-register by 27 February, going on to add that the party is willing to extend assistance to those who require it, through the party’s main campaign office.

Afshan also noted that they will open the opportunity for candidates to choose their officials for the elections on 27 February.

Both the local council and women’s development committee elections have been slated for 4 April.
