The parliament has approved the country's participation in the Revised Kyoto Convention (RKC).
The motion was passed with the votes of 65 members.
The Revised Kyoto Convention (RKC)- otherwise known as the International Convention on the Simplification and Harmonisation of Customs Procedures- was founded in 1973 by the World Customs Organisation (WCO). The convention seeks to promote customs control and facilitate customs procedures for international trade.
The government determined to become a party to the Convention following deliberations on a paper submitted by the Ministry of Economic Development.
