Pakistan congratulates Maldives on rejoining Commonwealth

The Government of Pakistan has congratulated the Maldives on the country's re-admission to the Commonwealth.

Highlighting that the fellow Muslim nation was one of the founding members of the international organisation, the government of Pakistan stated that the country has always been a key supporter of the Maldives re-joining the Commonwealth and congratulated the Maldives government and people on successfully returning to the organisation.

Additionally, Pakistan gave recognition to and expressed appreciation for the Maldives' efforts in other regional and international organisations.

Reiterating the country's commitment to future co-operation with the Maldives, Pakistan also emphasized the country's dedication to achieve the shared objectives of peace, development and prosperity, both within and outside the Indian Ocean region.
