Vice President Faisal Naseem has travelled to Himmafushi Island in Kaafu Atoll on Wednesday.

Residents of the island welcomed the vice president on Wednesday afternoon, after which VP Faisal conducted several tours across different facilities on the island.

Some of the tours include the location allocated by the government to develop the new rehabilitation center for drug users.

Further, the vice president also toured the Himmafushi Drug Treatment and Rehabilitation Center and met with the managements and staff.

During the tour, extensive discussions were held regarding the progress of patients dependent on drugs and alcohol, seeking treatment at the facility.

VP Naseem further inquired about challenges facing the institution in carrying out their mandate.

In addition, the vice president toured the Himmafushi Health Center.
