Housing ministry launches extermination work for termite infestation in Hulhumale' flats
 
A three-stage plan is underway to address the issues discovered during the inspection.
 
Complaints include water leakages, termite infestations, stairway lighting issues and well-deepening requests said the ministry.
 
90 complaints submitted by 35 parties have been attended to and inspected.

The Ministry of Housing and Urban Development has begun extermination work on the termite infestation in the newest Hulhumale' flats.

According to the ministry, 90 complaints submitted by 35 parties have been attended to and inspected.

These complaints include water leakages, termite infestations, stairway lighting issues and well-deepening requests said the ministry. They further add that a three-stage plan is underway to address the issues discovered during the inspection.

As such, the ministry revealed that work to fix the water leakages began in the past week and that preparation for termite extermination began on January 24th.

Highlighting termite extermination as a priority, the ministry stated that pest control teams were active near Hulhumale' flats block 173 on Saturday from 16:00 onwards while adding that other issues will be addressed shortly as well.

Inspection on the newest social housing flats in Hulhumale' was launched on January 7th. The deadline for complaint submission regarding these flats ended on 14:00 of January 16th.

The ministry will carry out repair work on these flats in collaboration with China Machinery Engineering Corporation (CMEC). The Housing Development Corporation Ltd (HDC) will also provide assistance in these works.
