Visit Maldives launches vlog series to promote local island tourism
 
MMPRC revealed that the campaign will run from 6 February to 23 June and that it aims to guide tourists to every inhabited island of Maldives

This is a production showcasing the local island experiences of Maldives

Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) has launched a promotional series in collaboration with a production group, Haa To Seenu.

With the aim to promote local island lifestyles to tourists, the web-series showcases island experiences the scatter of Maldives islands have to offer.

During a special event to unveil the first season of “Visit Maldives from Haa To Seenu” travel documentary on Friday, Haa to Seenu revealed that tourists will be given the opportunity to experience the beautiful culture of the Maldives and vlogs will feature unique experiences made available in each island.

Through a statement, MMPRC revealed that the campaign will run from 6 February to 23 June and that it aims to guide tourists to every inhabited island of Maldives, for an extensive experience. Further, it was revealed that the first season will feature inhabited islands in Haa Alif, Haa Dhaal and Shaviyani atolls.

Season one comprises of 41 episodes, each running for 45 minutes.

During the campaign, vlogs and photos will be posted on social media platforms run by the local production group and MMPRC which uses the handle Visit Maldives.

MMPRC’s statement further reads that promoting “experiential tourism” as well as promoting niche segments like culture, through island tourism will be a “key highlight” of the destination marketing strategy for this year.

This comes at a time Maldives celebrated a record growth in tourist arrivals during 2019, having welcomed 1.7 million tourists which is an increase of 14.7 percent compared to 2018.

The Ministry of Tourism has since announced a target for 2020; bringing in at least two million tourists.
