Local enterprise, AAA Hotels and Resorts. has on Wednesday said that it would open the Hondaafushi Island Resort, 260 km from the capital, in April.
Within just an hour from the Velana International Airport by speed boat, Hondaafushi has an on-beach restaurant, deluxe and super beach bungalows, and conducts excursions to uninhabited islands around it.
A company director, Mohamed Shiyam, said that the resort will open humbly with just 80 beds. He added that the company intends to increase accommodation capacity to a 100, and consistently grow at this rate to reach its targeted 400-bed capacity within three years.
The company further said that while the resort has an official three-star rating, its staff is dedicated to delivering exceptional service.
AAA Hotels and Resorts is a subsidiary of the parent AAA Trading, which operates three other resorts in the Maldives – Filitheyo, Medhufushi, and Bathala island resorts.
