Members of Dhaalu Atoll, Rinbudhoo Island Council has met with President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih to discuss the concerns and priorities of the council's constituents.

During the meeting held on Thursday afternoon at the President's Office, discussions touched on economic and infrastructure development projects of the island, with special emphasis on the harbor development project and water and sewerage project.

The President's office revealed that the Councillors voiced their concerns about the obstacles to adequate waste management, and shared the council's plan for local tourism development. As such, they appealed for the president's support in the areas that require expansion for the proper enforcement of the local tourism development plan.

Additional concerns shared by the Councillors include challenges to prevent beach erosion and issues with housing.

Highlighting some of the council's initiatives, the council has launched a campaign titled "Mariyanmaa" that aims to spread awareness for maternal and newborn health.

The meeting concluded with the President reassuring the Councillors of the administration's commitment to addressing the issues highlighted by the Councillors.
