MIRA closes registration for auditors

Business profit Tax will cease to be levied next year
Audit reports with BPT statements submitted before Dec 31st from registered auditors will be accepted

Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA) has officially closed registration for auditors.

According to a circular released by MIRA, registration for auditors are closed as of December 25th due to the dissolution of the Business profit Tax. Nevertheless, audit reports with BPT statements submitted before December 31st from auditors currently on the register will be accepted as long as the report does not clash with the registered category, says MIRA.

The Business profit Tax will cease to be levied following the recently ratified income tax bill coming into effect next year.

Income tax will be charged on citizens earning over MVR60,000 per month.
