Nilandhoo Sports Club has beaten the well-celebrated Green Streets during Wednesday’s match of the ongoing Dhiraagu Dhivehi League.
The young team of players in Nilandhoo team won the match played in Galolhu Football Stadium in capital city Malé, 4 – 2.
Wednesday’s match began with Nilandhoo team directing several attacks to the opposition team and having scored the first goal in the 18th minute.
With the leading goal from Nilandhoo, Green had improved its attacks during the remainder of the match and secured its first goal at the 32nd minute. However, Nilandhoo’s watchful goalkeeper blocked several goal attempts by Green players throughout the first half.
Nilandhoo scored its second goal at the 35th minute and by the time the first half ended, Nilandhoo team had scored three goals, with Green falling behind with just one goal.
After the second half began, Green players had stepped up their control game and scored a second goal at the 51st minute.
Nilandhoo scored its winning goal at the 77th minute of the match.
After the match, Green Street coach Ali Suzain commended Nilandhoo team’s win and asserted that the team had performed well.
After a brief hiatus of two months, the Dhiraagu Dhivehi League began on 16th December.
