Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) has launched aquatic physiotherapy services.

The hospital made the reveal via Twitter, adding that the service has been launched at the Dharumavantha Complex.

IGMH reveals that aquatic physiotherapy is a physical therapy carried out in water, as the name suggests, and it helps patients with arthritis to increase peripheral circulation, relax their muscles and relieve arthritic pain and stiffness in joints.

While the service was launched on Monday, the hospital revealed that patients are required to consult a physiotherapist beforehand and get the required reference before they can acquire the services, which have been made available every day.

Usually, the exercise is done in warm water no cooler than 34 degrees Celsius and is known to increase exercise tolerance as well as a few psychological benefits to those undergoing treatment.
