Justice will be served for the family of slain 59-year-old taxi driver Gasim Hassan, reveals Minister of Home Affairs Sheikh Imran Abdulla.
Revealing his hope that justice will be served for the murdered taxi driver’s family, Minister Imran commended the Maldives Police Service (MPS)’s efforts to seeking out the culprits.
The Home Minister stated that this operation attests the progress in the services of the country’s police. Especially the capability of the forensic investigations’ unit.
A man was arrested in connection to the murder on Thursday.
Commissioner of Police Mohamed Hameed made the reveal via Twitter on Thursday night, expressing is satisfaction with the investigative work carried out by officer.
Police retrieved crucial forensic evidence from the scene of the crime where DNA and fingerprints along with the weapon used to murder the 59-year-old taxi driver was found about a week back. The 59-year-old taxi driver was slain on the night of 4 December.
While he was rushed to Hulhumalé Hospital with stab wounds on his neck and several other parts of his body, Gasim was pronounced dead on arrival.
