Fiji's Minister for Fisheries, Semi Koroilavesau, arrived in the Maldives on Saturday, to attend the 34th session of the INFOFISH Governing Council.
The Maldives' Ministry of Fisheries Marine Resources and Agriculture has confirmed that the Maldives will be hosting and co-chairing the meeting scheduled from December 16th to 19th.
Founded in 1981, INFOFISH is an intergovernmental organization established to share marketing information and technical advisory services for fisheries products in the Asian and Pacific region.
The organization is a project of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations.
There are currently a total of 13 member states in the organization, including the Maldives.
