Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA) has collected MVR1.15billion in revenue for the month of November.
According to statistics publicized by MIRA, the collection amount for November of 2019 has increased 17.7% compared to the same period for last year. The total is also 33.5% more than the predicted amount for this period.
The rise in the total revenue in comparison to November 2018 is due to the increase in the collection of TGST, airport service charge, green tax, and lease period extension fees, says MIRA.
The majority of income collected is comprised of GST, which amounts to MVR651.68 million. Lease period extension fees come in second with a total of MVR153.6million collected, followed by MVR73.15million in green taxes and MVR60.17million in airport development fees.
Additionally, MVR59.73million was collected for airport service charges, whereas MVR152.40million was collected for other general fees and taxes.
Moreover, USD51.6million was also collected in taxes for the month of November.
As such, MVR927.6million was collected in taxes during the previous month of October this year.
