Officials from the Taxi Drivers Association have briefed President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih on matters regarding taxi operations and issues relating to them.
During a meeting held at the President’s Office on Wednesday afternoon, officials from the association discussed ways through which the pertinent issues they face may be resolved.
Some of said issues include financial difficulties in getting new vehicles as the taxi regulations prohibit the use of vehicles 20 years after its date of manufacture.
Further, discussions revolved around overcoming the difficulties and improving the quality of services to the people.
Having listened to their concerns, Solih assured that his government will work with relevant authorities in order to tackle the issues surfacing for the association and went on to urge drivers to provide “exceptional services” to the people.
